Amelia Kraigher

Independent theatre scholar and writer. In addition to writing for daily newspapers, radio, and professional publications (Maska, ČKZ, Sodobnost, Revija 2000, Razgledi, Zofa), she has also worked as a dramaturg on 12 theatre, puppet, and dance productions.
She is the former editor of the Cultural and Humanities section at Radio Student, and is currently editor-in-chief of both Maska the journal and its publishing house. Among other organisational and editorial positions, she was co-editor of the theatre and contemporary dance sections for The Slovenian Biographical Lexicon (2008); editor of publications and organiser of professional meetings at the Week of Slovenian Drama (2000–2004); and head of the international symposium Art, Culture, City at Maribor Theatre Festival (2009). She has also been a selector or jury member of theatre, puppet, and dance festivals, including the Week of Slovenian Drama in 2012 and 2013, as well as a member of various performing arts funding committees for organisations such as the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, the Department for Culture of the Municipality of Ljubljana, and the European Commission for the programme Culture 2000. She is an active member of the Association of Theatre Critics and Researchers of Slovenia, the committee of the Association of Puppeteers, and the Slovene Puppetry Biennial. She was recipient of the 2011 Taras Kermauner Institute Fellowship.
